Since it's holiday time, it's time to dust off the comic of Kazu trying to drag her family to their yearly holiday photo session at their local Sears (or whatever the equivalent is for them, but it's funny to think it's just straight up Sears).

I get this, but what too many people want is indie passion but AAA production value... which is nearly impossible.

Indie games are fantastic, but the extra bit of slickness and polish of a *good* first-party Nintendo game is still unmatched for reasons obviously not the fault of developers.

2 years and 8 months since LUNARK came out. Hard to believe.
I spent 4+ years mostly solo on this project - rotoscoping, coding, composing the OST - and your support made the difference! Thank you for playing my little cinematic-platformer tribute 🥰

Abandonment and helplessness.

After her parents' divorce many years ago, her friends starting their lives after graduation, and her father and sister moving out of state, Katie spent a good few years of her life fending for herself while having no idea what she's doing.
What are your OC's biggest fears? 🥶

While I've never been a book person (my attention span is cooked), this video on why reading fiction is better for you than self-help books extends to art as well.

The idea of art having a purpose to serve or value to extract messes up how we engage with it and make our own.

Self-help is dead. It's time to read fiction.

Went to Newgrounds to redownload Swivel because I lost my copy, and ended up scrolling through art for a good 10 minutes.

Genuinely inspiring that despite everything right now, there's still an overabundance of people making cool things.

Gives me some naive hope for the future of creative work.

"You dont gotta use AI for the final product, but why dont you use it for ideating and getting new ideas?" Because a core part of the creative process is taking what is in your head and translating it, yourself, into art. I can already use real life objects and 3d models as references.

I wonder what the overlap is between people who refuse to cough up $5 for a small creator's work, and people who will spend 10x or more on something corporate made?
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!
