Yay for Dayeon! I am amazed at her work and can't believe she has received such an honor for her debut book.
Congratulations, Dayeon Auh! "The-Three Year Tumble," her debut picture book, was selected as a New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Book.

"Auh retells a Korean folktale...with exuberant illustrations that are both incredibly skillful and endearingly childlike.” –Tracey Baptiste

I LOVE the Murderbot Diaries series and can't wait to check out this adaptation (although the armor in this image is looking pretty lackluster, hopefully it's just the screen grab quality . . . )! This is a great review for those both familiar with the series and new to it (with spoilers!).

This is devastating to the translation and literary community. Milkweed and Alice James are two publishers so dear to my heart. Please buy books from indie presses and donate to causes you support. We can all be the difference between these publishers shuttering their doors or surviving.
The devastating, shortsighted attack on literature continues. List from Magic City Books. Who'd they miss? Note: the small publishers selected here for financial attack include (among other very worthy and important presses) @transitbooks.bsky.social, publisher of 2023 Nobel laureate Jon Fosse.

RE: The Mahmoud v. Taylor trial – So YOUR religion is more important than MY existence. When I enter a public space, I question whether I am allow to EXIST. Imagine how that a child must feel in their classroom, wondering why the mere thought of their existence is offensive to their peer's family.

One I the things I find so fascinating about Murderbot in terms of culture is how people gender it, regardless of what's in the actual text. 1/
I keep seeing people say that Murderbot refers to itself as "she/her" in the books (you know, the ones I wrote). Could someone comment with a quote (from the books I wrote) or point me (the writer) to where that is? Maybe I can clear up the confusion. In the books. Which I wrote.
