PSA: if you get an email out of the blue that is supposedly from me, offering to help you with marketing or other publisher services, or asking for money, it is not me, it is a scammer.

This is a very common scam now, one of the many scams aimed at aspiring and new writers.

Episcopalians going *hard*
“I have asked the clergy of the diocese to make sure their affairs are in order and they have written their wills.,not the time for statements. It is time to put our bodies between the powers of this world and the most vulnerable”. Rob Hirschfeld, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire

We’ll get this list sorted out then make it super public. Serve ICE Gestapo at your own financial peril, friends! We will not forget.
A lot of businesses serving ICE agents in the Twin Cities are going to be in for a rude awakening. I already have a list of businesses that I will never patronize and I’m sure a bunch of others do, too. I know this info is being collected, but I haven’t even seen campaigns to share anything yet.

if you've been digging my writing so far, it would be a tremendous help to me right now while I'm waiting for some other payments to come through if you tossed a coin to your [poet/game designer]
if you can do it, and love supporting working writers and want to essentially pay to read a working writer work through how we get better at making arguments that defend the labour of working writers, I'd love it if you joined my Patreon!

Could This State Senate Runoff Be a Tipping Point for Tarrant County?
The special election in Senate District 9 pits “people power” against mountains of conservative cash and the rising influence of Christian nationalism.

Warning about writing scams seems kind of beside the point right now...but a scam is still a scam. Scammer posing as a literary agent on MSWL & falsely claiming association w/ the Ampersand Agency. Her website is full of lies & a "team" of AI people patchenlucillen.wixsite.com/patche-n/about

I’m in search of book recs for my niece. Criteria:

- Science fiction
- Female lead(s)
- Has an audiobook

Bonus points for space opera and queer books. She doesn’t mind if the books aren’t super recent (she loved the Honor Harrington series).

Turns out Roseanna's favourite novella of the year is really very good in facts that perhaps do not surprise.

Gloriously eclectic in form, it threads community and joy through the climate crisis in a way that resonates with many of my favourite works from last year.

The decision has been made to break an American city. It is an experiment. We must do all we can (legally) to help Minneapolis hold on.
if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

Remembering the late Jeffrey Catherine Jones, born on this date in 1944, who in a better timeline would still be with us. When I was a freshman at SUNY Buffalo in 1973, I crossed the border for the first time to attend a Toronto CosmicCon where I bought this remarkable piece from her — for $20.00.
