Oh, Nine Inch Nails also crushed the OST. Definitely fit the mood of this movie. Honestly, the movie overall did a really good job of trying something different and not just replicating Tron: Legacy. I really applaud the effort. And while I bash the nostalgia baiting, it WAS also kinda cool to see.

Despite the narrative issues, though, the movie isn't by ANY means bad. It's an entertaining 2 hours. It just sucks that it's gonna be another 20 years before they try again.

I feel like Tron could really grow as a franchise in animation and games. An Action/Adventure Tron game would be fuckin SICK

The other issue with Tron: Ares is that it just doen't slow down and let characters develop. It is just FULL STEAM AHEAD on things happening. One of Tron: Legacy's biggest narrative strengths was its heart.

Which is extra wild when Tron: Ares is about a program wanting to LIVE.

One of the WEIRDEST parts of Tron: Ares is the nostalgia baiting they do for the 80s. It's weird because Tron: Legacy didn't do that AT ALL.

There's literally a scene where Jared Leto smiles and nods and says "The 80s..."

I love Tron despite the fact that every movie had its flaws. My ratings:

Tron - 8/10
Tron: Legacy - 8.5/10
Tron: Ares - 7/10

Tron: Uprising - 10/10

As expected, #TronAres wasn't as bad as reviews made it out to be. Ended up enjoying it quite a bit despite its faults.

I just wish we could get a Tron sequel that actually builds up on the last movie. Both Legacy and Ares just kinda start from zero since DECADES pass between movies.

It's just fucking CRAZY how they think it's justified to ask for SO MUCH for an old-ass game, man. I still haven't picked up Tactics because $50 is just too rich for my blood.

The fact that it has a revised version and FULL VA-work does warrant $35 for a single-release, but not $50. That's NUTS.
