I've long been frustrated that small-scale indie news orgs don't get the recognition they deserve for the crucial work they do for their communities, so I did something about it. dansinker.com/posts/2025-1...

Please yes
NEW: I’m leading a bipartisan effort with Rep. Thomas Massie to end forever wars by repealing a 2001 provision letting the White House bypass Congress.

For decades, both parties have used this to conduct military operations with little to no oversight. It’s time for that to end.

@datawrapper.de Looks like you've refreshed the UI! Very clean and nice, even if I have to re-capture some tutorials : D

Question - is the gradient editor in the Choropleth map template... gone?

Or does my browser cache need to get a thorough cleaning?

Thanks!

How about fare evaders pay a small cent fine without admitting wrongdoing? Isn’t that how it works?

I was trying to hear her out until she said that the culture of frauds and schemes and scams was alien and un American and then I knew she’s delusional
Rep. Kat Cammarck: "Today, one in six people in the US is foreign born. That quite frankly is not sustainable to maintain a culture that we are known for here in the United States."

For Utah communities trying hard to conserve water, ripping up lawns is a start. But bigger infrastructure debt looms in the form of *wooden pipelines* and that takes millions. Glad to work with @davidcondos.bsky.social and @kuer.org on this excellent feature.

Around half of Utah’s counties have met their 2030 conservation goals. Taking a closer look at who is succeeding and struggling offers a glimpse of why it’s hard to save water in Utah.

The resource curse is real and the US is not immune to it.
Michael Mann: "Sadly, the U.S. itself must now be considered an authoritarian petrostate. The Trump Administration has worked with congressional Republicans who are currently in power to defund climate and vaccine science while staffing various agencies with climate and vaccine deniers."
