I watched "Sweet as you are" the other night on BBC4 as part of their screen two celebrations. I'd never seen it before although it was first broadcast in 1988. While not perfect - a bit heavy on symbolism in places - it's still a terrific watch. m.imdb.com/title/tt0094...

"Your former colleagues seem woefully ill informed." Sir John sniffed, rifled through a drawer, and tossed a poorly written note at me.

"You put us in clink," it read. "Bring us fifty quid to Brandram's Wharf this very night or we finish wot we started!"

It's 11AM. Welcome to the Mystery Jukebox 4.0!

Kitty has parked up the food truck up in Scotland today and weighted down the chairs.

The bottled beers nicely chilled and we’re ready to go.

Kitty, famous '70s model and Jetsetter, will be setting up her "food truck" on the Southbank again on Saturday.

Join her from 11AM when she fires up the Dansette.

This week's code: New Orleans Po'boy for bourbon.

Please note Kitty has no time nor inclination to drip Absinthe through a sugar cube.

Wishing you all the best with your interview, Honest.

Seriously, walk in as if you own the place. You do. Smile. You have always been there.

But remember you want this job.

Kate Bush: The DREAMING

No one wants to remember Rolf Harris with good reason but this is still a great track.

"But you haven't explained everything," said Annie as we filed out into the churchyard. "What about Mr Goodman's last clue?"

"His last clue, miss?"

"My whole is a stone in the wind, you will see, When I hold up my hands and am smiling at thee."

Annie was right. Considering Miss Goodman's circumstances when she'd died, and the undiscovered riddle I'd found amongst the clock parts, the ruby Mrs Klein had been after had yet to appear.

To this end, I set George the task of interviewing clock makers.

I watched Spike Lee's Highest to Lowest - Denzel Washington is a music mogul who gets embroiled in a ransom demand. Tense, great soundtrack and Jeffrey Wright steals scenes effortlessly.

"So it's all about cue bone?" asked George as people gathered outside after the service. I nodded, having long given up trying to correct him.

"Think of it this way," I said. "Who now has what, because of what happened?"

"Well, you've got a broken clock."

The younger Mr Klein, ousted from the family business by his older brother, regarded me thoughtfully.

That he was even listening to my theory about his father's murder was a testament to how badly he felt betrayed.

"Can you describe your sister-in-law?" I asked.

53 years ago my mother's boss, Rose, took me on vacation to Queenstown, NZ. It was a truly magical place. The light is unique.

This week I've been watching A Remarkable Place To Die on free-to-stream U, and I was immediately transported back there.

Expect many further seasons.

Timeline cleanse: I've just learned about this adorable little termite eater in Australia called the numbat. Aren't they gorgeous 😍
A photo of a numbat. It's an adorable little creature from Australia. It's marsupial and eats termites. It's got a cute, pointy fuzzy face, with little ears sticking up, a striped back and the tail & general body shape of a squirrel. This one is stitting on a tree branch.

I eyed the desk sergeant towering over me on the other side of the counter.

"I wish to speak to the officer who was in charge of the Hatton Garden robbery," said I.

"Do you just?" he countered, his grim mouth unbending.

"Most emphatically, sir," I replied.

Sergeant Gray and I shared history together. He'd sworn never to believe another word that came out of my mouth...with good reason, as it goes.

But hey ho! Here he was for a second day quizzing me about my involvement. And I told him everything.
