When pricked, I immediately bleed either Beethoven or Brubeck, and not necessarily in that order. For over 35 years, I work by Design for the love of Design. Really wanted to be a physicist when I grew up, but I am too easily distrac

“If we want to know where we’re going, we have 2 know where we’ve been. We have to learn it before we can change it. If U don’t feed your brain & get to a knowledge of history, what do U have to build on? UR always a student. U never R NOT a student.”

~Roy Hargrove

This concert never took place.
Happy Birthday William Penn Adair Rogers, a.k.a., Will Rogers
Nov 4, 1879 – Aug 15, 1935

“There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.”
You gotta start somewhere. OTD in 1961, Dylan made his concert hall debut in NYC. The show was seen by only 50 people who paid $2 each at Carnegie Hall. Don't be concerned about the size of your audience. Just serve those in front of you, serve them well, dream on, dream big, and keep on dreaming!
Certainty can be a handicap. If you are so set on your goal that you cannot zoom out & see that in the very obstacles you are encountering the entire Universe may be showing you another way? The obstacles MAY BE the WAY? Curiosity in small biz is essential. It sources straight from the heart.
Small business is an adventure! Hope you have your Monday goggles on! It's a great week to have a great week!
We get the same question a lot. How can I make my biz mktg more successful, & what is the cost? It depends. What do you want to become? Where do you want to go? The answer depends on what kind of world you wish to see as an outcome.

What is really scary? A business with no plan.

Happy Halloween!
Happy Birthday Ezra Weston Loomis Pound
October 30, 1885 – November 1, 1972
“The eulogy virtues are deeper. They’re the virtues that get talked about at your funeral, the ones that exist at the core of your being — whether you are kind, brave, honest or faithful; what kind of relationships you formed.” Via Vala Afshar
Fun fact. You may not feel very powerful. But the sunlight has traveled 93 million miles at the speed of C unobstructed, and it cannot reach the ground because of, well, you.
It was OTD in 1886 the Statue of Liberty was officially opened to the public. Her hat is a Diadem representing 7 seven rays of the sun, 7 seas, 7 continents, & her torch, where Liberty enlightens the world. Can creativity grow under oppression? Quick! Use your head before they tax thinking!
Learning how to see is a lifetime occupation isn't it? That's the beauty of ART.
When an entrepreneur tells me their mission statement is to make as much money as possible, we start over.
Roy Lichtenstein loved parody. Here is his version of vanGogh's "The Bedroom" and his tongue-in-cheek commentary:

"Mine is a rather large painting, and his is rather small. His is much better, but mine is much bigger."

He is poking FUN at Americans, where 'bigger' is always 'better'.
Happy Birthday Roy Lichtenstein
October 27, 1923 – September 29, 1997

The painting is looking back at us, at the very person who is looking at the art. He says he can see the whole room and there is no one in it. He is testing everything we think about art. Roy is the Magritte of Pop Art.
❤️. "All art is but imitation of Nature." ~Seneca
I love that quote Shantha! Thank you for sharing!
Mother Nature models drastic transformation with patience. She shows us how beautiful it is to let go. She reminds us to watch for new beginnings in every ending. She teaches us that those most resilient to change will evolve stronger and better fit for the future. Embrace the beauty.
Happy Birthday Franz Liszt
Oct 22, 1811 – Jul 31, 1886

Hard to imagine anyone going gaga over this face, isn't it? Liszt was Elvis before Elvis was Elvis. The hysteria was called Lisztomania.

Cartoons taught me to appreciate classical music.

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
Happy Birthday John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie
Oct 21, 1917 - Jan 6, 1993

Dizzy's horn was bent on accident right before he was to go onstage. A comedy dance team had stepped on it. Dizzy went on to play the horn AS IS. His trumpet became his trademark, & the horn’s unique sound became his BRAND.
So we gotta make this one count.
