my dude wants us to trade in my car and lease a new one & i hate that idea. it's 2001 honda with 180k miles on it. the engine is a TEENAGER even though the interior is falling apart. i don't want a computer screen in the car or to give up my tape/cd deck and i like fixing minor car things myself!

i DEEPLY hate the term. it's patronizing, it's a stupid euphemism, it plays into the transphobic notion that cis people are humoring us, it's epistemological oppression to avoid saying the word trans, 90% of the shit cis people do isn't called "gender affirming", etc

I would say that among people I know the primary two positions are "freak out" and "ignore this" and you will be shocked to know i think neither of those are the right move, but both are understandable. I think this is worth closely monitoring, without losing your shit over it.
