I can see the story as a deeply personal arc for hornet herself, which is fitting with the various shamanic descents throughout, hornet's own conflicted nature with void and silk, the red memory... a little more yuri with lace could have made that land better at the end

I've sat with the lace stuff a long time, and I have an allegorical read, but it doesnt work very well as an emotionally fulfilling story. the real story of silksong is pharloom, the citadel, the large cast of characters supporting its setting. the ending might've benefitted from a resolution there

I love silksong, but the ending of the game puts the focus on such a peripheral character. wish it felt more like saving the world and less like saving a cackling sadist who keeps trying to kill you. maybe if hornet's feelings for her were more developed

beat shortly after posting. I stand by what I said though. I wouldn't want the fight different, but I think I'd have preferred lace 2 and first sinner to have been a little more difficult, even just having more HP, to get my skill up a bit and to have those fights weigh a bit heavier
