I'm 💯 about to start referring to "kg m/s" as a Noether regardless of whether or not it's adopted as an SI unit

Was gifted a duo-band filter (Ha/OIII) as an early b-day gift from my lovely parents. Couldn't get a clear night, so I aimed it at something more terrestrial, and well, this guy seemed just chuffed to bits to have his picture taken

I'm a simple man, I have simple needs: a roof over my head, food on my plate, and $10k worth of #astrophotography equipment. You know, the essentials

My wife and I happened across a Sonic clock, and for some reason I got an eye roll for pointing out--correctly, I might add--that it always runs fast

We thought SkyNet would try to destroy humanity through violence, and instead it's simply through making it impossible to get healthcare
My wife just called a medical office to make an appointment, and was connected to “Emma.” She couldn’t handle complicated questions and repeated her prompts. It didn’t take long to realize she was an AI BOT!

Anyway, if anybody wants to buy me a real set of astrophotography filters, I'm taking applications.
Took this photo of NGC 6914 (6k ly away) the other night, using a red filter and moon and skyglow filter together as a ghetto H-alpha filter, which I used as a luminance channel. Did it work? Kinda. Will I do it again? Probably not.

Sorry, all I got was *this* crummy picture of the Pelican Nebula, I just apparently still had quite a bit of learning to do about post-processing #astrophotography

It's amazing what a month of getting smarterer (well, and a >2x bigger aperture) can get you. #astrophotography

(Also, don't check the spelling of 'smarterer,' your dictionary probably isn't cool enough to list it.)

I going to interpret this as I can eat a hot dog every day of the year except one (which I would choose National Hot Dog day, the holiest day of the year) and have no adverse side effects
far be it from me to tell scientists how to do their jobs but i feel like there might be value in surveying the <365 hot dogs per year demographic

Three-hour exposure of the North America Nebula from my backyard in a Bortle 7 area. Discovered in 1786, but up until 2020 guesses as to how far away it is ranged anywhere from 1500 to 3000 lightyears (actual is 2590 +/- 80 ly) #astrophotography
