Little Death Vol 1: Death and the Boy
As a recovering transplant from a troubled girls’ school his father dumped him in, senior Ellery needs someone to love him unconditionally. His life is plunged into horror when a necromancer from a parallel dimension appears in Ellery’s school and in his dreams.

Callisto, the necromancer, narrates the comic page.
Benedetta, a young woman with red hair, is elbow deep in weeds, focused on her work as a landscaper. Ellery is watching her from behind a bush with a sad longing look in his eyes. “Benedetta met this boy a year and a half ago. Though, she didn’t know him then.”
Benedetta is giving Ellery a daisy. It’s the past. Ellery is wearing the Sanewell girls’ school uniform, a long grey dress with buttons down the front.

Ellery is sweeping the floor. Callisto continues to narrate the comic page. “Will Benedetta like me? Will she see me?” “He repeats those questions , every night” Ellery is sitting on a bed in his dorm. Ellery gets startled by something in the book he’s looking at. “What-“ he gasps.
“A heart like that…” Callisto says, as a daisy blooms fully in the next panel. In the following panel, Ellery’s hand brushes over the pressed daisy flower Benedetta gave him, which has gone shriveled and dark. “How did her flower wilt? I kept it dry all this time….” Says Ellery in confusion.
“So innocent…” says Callisto

This is another scene in the comic. Ellery struggles to escape Callisto, grabbing at his arm and raking his fingers across him. “Get OFF of-“
His nails make a nasty GLISS noise as they glide through Callisto’s decayed flesh, opening his arm up and revealing a popping of meat and maggots. Ellery holds his arm out, stunned. “A…” he says to himself quietly.
“A…Corpse?!?!” He thinks, staring at his wet hand, a look of deep horror welling up from behind his eyes, and a hint of something more.

Callisto barely reacts, letting his deep scratch heal itself. It hisses as the ichor slips back inside him, sealing itself with a wet ssssh-pull-sss noise. “Wh-what-What are you?” Ellery asks, regaining his ability to speak “What do you want from me?”

what I try to remember is that even when it looks "good" enough to trick me, that's only bc a real artist's material is in there and that's what I'm responding to

that their work is stolen is of course one of the problems, but that's also why it'll never be more meaningful than human art
