Creating art is resistance, especially in the face of wanton destruction.
And creating queer art in the face of a world that constantly rejects us is one of the vital ways we maintain our community & humanity.

learned a bit of hydrology today at the park & apparently an eddy is a safe spot behind an obstruction - i.e. a rock, a stump, etc. - that folks encountering rough waters can use for rest

Eddie bites his bottom lip before pouncing, gently tackling Stevie while he attacks their entire face & neck & hair & shoulders with kisses. Stevie loses their breath from laughing so damn hard. Finally, Eddie shows them some mercy & lets up -

Then they feel Eddie’s fingers lace with theirs. “Well then I guess we’ll have to change that,” Eddie says softly. Stevie meets his eyes to see that mix of bright yet nervous that he always seems to reserve for Stevie & Stevie alone. Stevie can’t help the smile blooming on their face. “Yeah?”

Eddie’s mouth drops into an O as the realization hits him, his head nodding like a bobblehead that’s losing momentum as he turns to look out the window. Stevie thinks that’s the end of the conversation, a small sadness settling in their chest as they mourn something they hadn’t dared hoped for.

so while Stevie’s heart is fluttering, they have to say: “Eds, you know those are couples costumes, right?” Eddie cocks his head to the side, like a confused puppy. “Uh, yeah? If we’re dating why wouldn’t we do couples costumes?” Stevie powers past their discomfort. “Because we aren’t public…”
