That seems to be a lot of the case in regards to vocals on first impressions. It was more of a funny thing to me at first and then I grew to love it.

Definitely great to revisit. I really enjoyed Noroi. I realized I had seen bits of it before but an actual full watch was nice. Unsettling and really liked how realistic and believable it made everything feel

Nice. Yeah I can’t remember the actual first death metal cd I bought for myself. Might have been Pierced because I didn’t own an actual copy of Molesting the Decapitated until a year or two after just having it on cdr

Cannibal Corpse was the first DM band I heard technically, when Ace Ventura came out, but I wasn’t into the genre yet. So Devourment opened a lot of doors. 2001 I was still very much a nu-metal kid branching out to extreme metal. Cradle of Filth + Devourment as my gateway lol

Intro to death metal?

Devourment in 2001. My friend’s older friend jammed in the same rehearsal building. So that kinda trickled its way down to my friend and him letting me borrow Molesting the Decapitated so I could burn a copy. It was the first DM album I heard in full.
