ATTENTION CHRISTMAS COOKS AND HELPERS:

It's time to begin thawing your Turkey, Ham, or etc.

While you're at it, take inventory of your ingredients. Do you have everything and enough of them? Do you have a firm people count?

Today in Norman Oklahoma an estate sale advertised guns for sale along with the house and car and household items and tools and machinery. It took until 12 noon to auction off all the guns.
Zoe Weissman survived the Parkland shooting. Now she’s at Brown, and it happened again.

“Honestly, I'm really angry that this is happening to me all over again, and I'm just in shock.”

This is promising. If Labor becomes a bi-partisan issue, we could force capitalism to work for workers.
The 231-195 vote was a rare bipartisan pushback against the president. The bill was sponsored by Maine’s Jared Golden, a Democrat, and Pennsylvania’s Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican. Twenty Republicans joined all Democrats in supporting the bill.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia wasn't supposed to be released.

He was released.

Indiana was supposed to gerrymander.

It didn't.

Maybe ordinary people fighting, and not waiting for some savior, is the way to go? As that community organizer said, "WE are the ones we've been waiting for."

My column from Monday. Some lessons for our time from epic poetry: Monsters are inevitable; heroes are not. There are boundaries not even the most ruthless can cross. And, as the Irish bard Antaine Raiftearai said, in the times of struggle stand the righteous.
The small fights for democracy are the epics of our time | Alabama Reflector

A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

Seems like most (esp. "journalists") criticizing Fani Willis for using RICO or getting disqualified are glossing over the facts that she elicited several guilty pleas from defendants and was replaced by a MAGA prosecutor who is the one requesting the dismissal. Are journalists really this ignorant?
