Perfect Dark is cancelled, and The Initiative is gone.

What an astonishingly dark day.

I feel awful for the people involved. Utter vandalism.

I can't even begin to imagine how much of a nightmare it's been to work under the Xbox banner for the past 18 months. There's no way any developers in any of those studios have felt secure in their jobs over the past 18 months.

Taskmaster was so real for saying this.

Spider-Man going a little too bootlicker there for me.

I spent too much time looking at Yumia's ass and was transported to the bright surface of Mercury for my sins.

Yeah, I feel like these sorts of games just LOOK kind of jank in trailers. I still think Avowed looks jank, but that game has really fun combat.

It's so good. One of the very few games that made me sad because I could only play it for the first time once.

I got recommended the trailer on YouTube. It looked kind of jank, but jank in that fun way. The overall aesthetics looked pretty nice too.

I played Split Fiction, an extremely well-made game, but one with two lead characters who should be thrown in the ocean. Still, it's one of the better games to come out this year.

I wrote a review of it for @jagreview.com. You can read the review here: jagreview.com/2025/05/21/s...

French trade union Solidaires Informatique has reiterated that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot will be summoned at the trial of three former Ubisoft execs in June.

It claims Guillemot was complicit in the "systematic nature of harassment" at Ubisoft.

"...if the full release retained the same polish and charm as [the 2022 demo], then it was sure to be an excellent game. Now I can happily say that it is, in fact, an excellent game." - @michael.jagreview.com

I have this on my Steam wishlist and I'm debating grabbing it. I've been using the Doom games as a chaser to E33, so something like this might be nice to level out again with.

"Bungie has now acknowledged that Hook’s claims are accurate, and that the staff member responsible for the apparent plagiarism is no longer employed there."

Somehow I doubt they fired Marathon's art director, because that's who's ultimately responsible for letting this happen.

I'm only about halfway through Dark Ages, but unless something drastically goes downhill, it's kind of shocking how much better I find it than Doom and Doom Eternal.

Every time I think this company can't get any shittier they manage to outdo themselves. And I can't even be surprised because they've blatantly stolen art MULTIPLE times before.

the Marathon alpha released recently and its environments are covered with assets lifted from poster designs i made in 2017.

I have a 9800X3D CPU and a 4070 Ti Super GPU, so I'm able to play at basically maxed out settings without much trouble, but I have noticed Dark Ages doesn't run anywhere near as well as Eternal did, and to this point, I haven't noticed much of a graphical quality upgrade to justify that.

I made the mistake of throwing my shield into a parry tutorial demon in The Dark Ages and completely locked myself in place.

it WILL be the single best game you play all year
gordon.jagreview.com
I liked Doom's and Eternal's music, but honestly, neither OST was one I found SUPER memorable. I know I'm in the minority there, and if Mick was entirely truthful, then absolutely fuck Bethesda, but I'm not exactly hearing a massive drop in quality in Dark Ages.

"The session lengths are deliberate; you can literally do five-minute sessions if you want to, if that’s how much time you have. Even if you’re a completionist, it’s probably like 30, 40 hours, if I remember correctly, but something like not thousands of hours."

You love to see this.

I fully 100% believe getting Waffle House would completely fix Tekken 8 and they'd never have to do anything to the game ever again
