So for a #underrated #birdoftheday I’ve chosen a female #mallard (hen). Why? Because hand anyone a camera and tell them to photograph a “duck” they invariably take a #photo of a male mallard with its iridescent green head. But the hen is also stunning, no? #photography #bird 🪶 #nature #duck

Taken 10/25/25. A stream in Alberta, looking west towards the province of British Columbia. Mount Armstrong, which straddles the border, can be seen, dusted by early snowfall and partially enveloped by clouds.

Mount Armstrong was named in 1918 after John Douglas Armstrong, a lieutenant with the Canadian Engineers 🇨🇦, killed in action in World War 1 on April 9, 1917, at Vimy Ridge.

I subscribed to the online WP 14 months ago for $2🇨🇦 every 4 weeks. After a year it was to increase to $25🇨🇦/4 weeks. I decided to cancel & subscribe to the Atlantic. First I received a "Sorry to see you go," email. The next day the WP emailed an offer to extend my subscription for $1🇨🇦/4 weeks. #sad

About the only advantage the Blue Jays have is that they WON’T have to visit Mar-a-Lardo and listen to Epstein's buddy beak on about acquiring Canada. Watch him make Hiroshima jokes if the Dodgers win.

That’s the one tangible advantage the Blue Jays have. If they win they’d be tickled pink at the celebration Canada would throw for them. If LA wins Ohtani and the team would probably dread meeting Trump for he’d likely make racist comments and use the occasion to go off topic and bore everyone.

Before this ends miserably for him, Trump will be dropping 'beautiful' from descriptions. He'll be happy if a snaggletoothed hag is still wearing a MAGA hat, which in less than a decade we should hopefully only be able to find in a museum, alongside hula-hoops, Betamax VCRs and cabbage patch dolls.
