I don't think anyone should be trusted if they scorn at the idea of needing to provide actual sources or references to what they claim, especially if the claim is extremely contentious.

There has always been an aspect of "entertainment" to how people discuss and convey history but a lot of older documentaries on this topic tend to have a condescending view of their audience assuming they're completely clueless and subject them to cultural biases as a result.

People complain about modern Youtubers and the weak standards/accountability for them with documentary like content but man people need to talk about this with some perspective. Older documentaries, especially for history, were so god awful and distractingly disingenuous. I

I feel the problem with people calling younger generations dumber is that it placates older generations as more intelligible when they are often the ones spreading the rhetoric that young people believe and boomers are equally influenced by the same narratives.

It's pretty funny to me that Canadian voters have insane and unhinged beliefs but Conservative politicians are relatively mundane and don't play into that the way politicians in America or the UK do.

I feel people's modern perspective of India clouds so much of what India has been throughout its history where they just assume their modern perception and stereotypes associated with the nation should be conflated with the whole of their history and society rather myopically.

people who are critical of journalists are not unjustified depending on the context but most have a moronic idea of accountability, assuming that any who don't pursue their ideology is a bad journalist and often times they'd be destroyed if given similar accountability.

I'll be honest, any time I see someone proclaim a publication has "bad journalism" that person always has a bad reading of shit in general and in many cases is misconstruing or strawmans the people they criticize. People like the would break if put under actual accountability.

You know if WB wasn't so selfish with the Nemesis system patent I doubt people would actually like the system all that much. It was a total nothing burger in the games it exists in and conceptually it's at best an amusing bit of flavor than anything mechanically interesting.

It’s pretty funny to me how many Conservatives are offended over South Park’s portrayal of Trump but JD Vance likely grew up watching it and is probably ecstatic on the idea he’s given so much focus recent seasons. Funny contrast to the White House response.
