Donald Trump is once more playing politics with people’s most basic needs. This $120 million in annual funding supports data-driven programs that are proven to help stabilize people so they can have the best chance to secure permanent housing.

Colleen has led on some of the most consequential cases in the history of our state. Under her leadership at the Attorney General’s Office, our state was the first to sue the Trump Admin, defeating the first travel ban. We then were the first to block the attempt to overturn birthright citizenship.
It was my privilege today to appoint Colleen Melody to the Washington Supreme Court.

When I was Attorney General, I established a Civil Rights Division. Colleen agreed to come and build it from the ground up. Now, by any fair measure, it's the best civil rights division in any AGO in the country.

Get to know more about our state's newest justice — a Spokane native, first-in-her-class UW Law graduate, and a fearless defender of our democracy.
Better Call Colleen
Colleen Melody probably could have been anything she wanted when she grew up — a doctor, a musician, a professor, a CEO, maybe even a professional softball player. But when

Mary Yu is retiring from the Washington Supreme Court.

Justice Yu is a historic figure in our state and a trailblazer in many ways. I've also spoken to many attorneys who call Justice Yu a mentor, the greatest compliment of all.

Washington state is thankful for your service.

Earlier this year, the Trump Administration withheld funding for Head Start — another program to help kids access preschool — and has threatened to eliminate it entirely.

Washington state is moving forward and stepping up for our kids.
Last week, I joined representatives from Ballmer Group to announce a new grant to dramatically expand Washington’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), which provides access to high-quality preschool to low-income families...

Visited the site of the Olympic Pipeline leak yesterday. I met with the people working hard to dig out the pipe, find the leak and repair it. The emergency proclamation I issued last week is working as expected to increase fuel deliveries to SeaTac Airport and minimize impacts to travelers.

My condolences to this individual's family and loved ones. Thank you to the dedicated medical professionals who cared for them, and to the public health experts working to monitor the situation and educate the public. To emphasize what the experts are saying: The risk to the public remains low.

Last year, the deck hire retention rate for our ferry system was 66%.

It’s now 92%.

We’re building new boats, adding sailings, and addressing staffing challenges. Our investments are paying off.

Donald Trump fought hard to keep food from hungry families.

Washington state came together and fought hard to win in court, distribute SNAP funds, and support our food banks.
