It's not a prize awarded for a one- shot deal that may/may not pan out. Another thing: the Nobel Peace Prize is not given to whoever threatens or intimides the committee. Candidates who resort to those tactics PROVE they don't have peaceful intentions.

In 2019, both Johnson and Thune both voted for a federal law guaranteeing back pay for furloughed federal workers during a shutdown. Now, they want to punish workers for the actions of Congress.
