Doing math the way nature intended. And by “nature” I mean “Hewlett-Packard”.
The HP-35 from 1974 The manual for the HP-35 explaining the stack/register approach. So it thinks.

If anyone wondered “what would happen if the country was governed by an old pedo racist who only understood the world in terms of TV ratings and real estate?”

The CEO is Piotr Szczerek and he deserves to be miserable forever.

The millionaire CEO who stole a hat from a child at the US Open is, ultimately, indicative of the whole ruling class.

This is what we’re up against, a small number of people and a system that will gladly and unapologetically steal from children and from all of us.

Who steals from a child? A CEO.
He snatched a hat from a kid in front of the whole world.

Write and run 6502 code on your phone TODAY. Useful if you need to impress potential employers or romantic partners.

The very real urge to write an emulator for that instruction set you're learning about. Today: PDP-1.

This picture shows a functioning PDP-1 at the CHM in Mountain View, California together with a functioning Steve Russell (creator of Spacewar, and Lord of Lisp).
A white-haired gentleman sits in a chair in front of a PDP-1 mini computer from 1959 (looking like a filing cabinet with a control panel and strips of paper tape). Also on the desk are a teletype and a large CRT display.

I love this hobbyist computer from 1967. So relaxing.

Notice how it doesn't even store a program: it executes an instruction that you enter using switches. Adding a program counter and program store would be expensive, but effectively make it into a system that could do things

Look, Trump is who he is. He’s a pathological liar. He’s incapable of shame. He’s a fascist. Does no good to call him out. It’s time to call out the fascist’s enablers - all those who bow to & cave to him. Shame on you @smithsonian.bsky.social. Shame on you for lying about American history.

Under pressure from the White House, the Smithsonian has removed Trump from the impeachment exhibit at the History Museum.

The exhibit now says that “only three presidents have seriously faced removal,” referring to Johnson, Nixon, and Clinton.

The exhibit now looks the way it did in 2008.

A temporary placard, on display since 2021, described the president's historic impeachments. Officials said the exhibit was restored to an earlier version following a review of legacy content.

It’s all about property for Trump. Real estate, office, people.

Virginia Giuffre’s brother: I think we were shocked by it—especially the use of the term “stolen.” Because she’s not an object. She’s a person. Someone who was recruited at Mar-a-Lago—his property… it just kind of makes us wonder… how much he knew

UPDATE: @SenatorHagerty and the Republicans just voted to let Trump take the Qatari jet with him when he leaves office.

Insane corruption. There is no bottom.

Trotting out the messages from their big oil taskmasters to those too lazy to think for themselves. Anyone who thinks renewable energy is bad really needs to pause the TV and just think for a minute.
