6,267,667 less people voted for Harris than voted for Biden in 2029

Votes for trump
2016 62,984,828
2020 74,223,975
2024 77,302,169

I'm not an expert, but maybe Democrats need to step away from "I can't vote for ______" for just one election...

I think if I could sit down with you in person I could convince you, in less than 45 minutes, that a Democrat will never be president again in your lifetime.

Like not just the concept. But you would fully believe it's truly not possible.

Even before they jettisoned Biden, AOC said something prescient.

To paraphrase.

You have a very important cause you want to see fixed. With whoever the Democrat might be, you'll be able to fight to right that particular wrong. With trump as president, you'll instead be fighting to stop his wrongs.

The pie chart represents what much of America THINKS is the breakdown of the American "political divide"

The graph shows a more accurate representation.
20.5 ineligible to vote and those under 18
34.7 chose not to vote
22.1 voted Democratic Party
22.7 voted republican

Humans have always struggled.

We're not built to be content, dare I say "happy".

Unfortunately, we have sort of reached the stage where our know-how, wealth and technology could in theory solve all Americans problems.

We COULD be content.

Almost all of the chaos we're seeing now is manufactured.

As America slides into a literal state of clinical depression and most likely a financial depression, it's terrifying to think of the zombie-like coping mechanisms we are about to see take hold.

I've watched people around me becoming basically shells of themselves trying to "hold on to normalcy".

My personal belief.

America has passed the point where over 50% of the population can be 'persuaded' into believing at least one thing completely untrue that previously they would have known to be definitely untrue if they'd learned it just a few years ago.

If you wonder why this is all happening.

I do not follow @volts.wtf but it's by far the most re-skeeted account across all the accounts I have on my favorites list(the one I actually see each day).

Half the time it's people pointing out how wrong they are and half the time it's people who think it's a valid point......

As seen at the 2025 Velo-city Conference in Gdansk, the Big Bike Orchestra is a Polish pop-folk band formed in 2021 in Bydgoszcz.

Their unique feature is the combination of playing musical instruments while simultaneously riding a specially constructed six-person bicycle.

This is what most people envision when they think about American politics.

"Democrats have left these places behind"
"Democrats don't care about these places"
"Democrats(politicians) don't come here"

So, in the absence of Democrats, who exactly has been running the 26 states at the bottom of the statistics?

It's infuriating how republicans simply aren't held accountable

In 2024 19 states plus the District of Columbia voted for Kamala Harris

14 of those 19, as well as D.C. are ABOVE the United States overall HDI average of .938

EVERY state that voted for trump is BELOW this average

26 of the 28 lowest states overall voted for trump

Seeing as how a vast majority of Americans don't see the difference between the 8 years of Obama and the past 9 years of trump......

I'm going out on a limb and say people's minds won't be changed by this disastrous bill.

"America is divided"

HDI tells the story of the divide.

All 13 states above the United States average voted for Harris in 2024

19 of the bottom 20 and 25 of the bottom 27 voted trump
[Delaware and New Mexico being the outliers]

Divided by outcomes.

HDI or Human Development Index is a formula that uses actual statistical data to assess a country's development.

If you take how the states voted in 2024 and ranked them as a country.....

Harris 16th [.939]
United States 17th [.938]

trump 34th [.908]

40 changes in Paris in 2 minutes, a video I did in 2023. Bluesky has just increased the video time limit, so now I can post it in full ! ;) Notice how many "after" images still have very little green, as the changes were recent at the time. A good reason to make a new version later !
