Exclusive: Third Labour councillor defects to the Green Party in January alone - bringing the total of Labour defections to 19 since Zack became leader in September.

Lucy Musk, who represents Haldens ward in Welwyn Hatfield, has joined the Green Party from Labour.

Big news in Greenwich, where Labour councillor Lakshan Saldin has defected to the Green Party and becomes the first councillor to switch to the Greens.

This is just months after Tamasin Rhymes won the partyโ€™s first seat from Labour in June.

The Green Party are set to gain 3 seats at the Senedd election in May, according to @cavendishcymru.bsky.social from yesterday's @findoutnow.bsky.social poll where the party is on 9%.

They would win two seats in Cardiff, and another in the Gwyr Abertawe constituency.

A third Labour councillor in Southwark has defected to the Green Party.

Reginald Popoola who joins the Greens, said: โ€œThe Green Party offers a message of real hope and change.โ€

He's been a councillor for Nunhead & Queen's Road and is a former Deputy Cabinet Member.

This is a +3.8% swing compared to the previous NI election in 2022.

"The councillors who have joined the Greens are: Harbi Farah and Mary Mitchell, who represent Welsh Harp, Iman Ahmadi Moghaddam, who represents Wembley Park, Tony Ethapemi, who represents Stonebridge and Erica Gbajumo, who represents Brondesbury Park."
