#SisterStan was one of the good ones. She did amazing work for the underprivileged and the homeless.
@FocusIreland
May her great work continue #homelessness #rehousing #socialjustive
I didn't have the money for it myself when I was a teen, but I 'suggested' that my brother Will get 'Slowhand' by Eric Clapton when he headed to town. I didn't think it worked but it did! First one I bought was Dire Straits debut album followed by The Police - Outlandos d'Amour.
HOUSEKEEPING! A big thank you to Shay Byrne for spinning 'Blue Velvet' on #risingtime yesterday morning, and to Jean Curran for tomorrow's upcoming spin of 'Chalk it Down' on her lovely Highland Radio show. Great support for independent music.💚😊💚⭐💚😊💚⭐💚

“It's a satirical song for the times in which we live, and the times ain't pretty. Meanwhile, we'll all keep on keeping on finding peace and joy where we can.”

New builds wer th worst hit when lots lost power in storm last year,some fr several weeks,leaving them without water,light,heat or cooking facilities&, as you say,such storms will be more frequent.The infrastructure isn't ready fr all-electric houses.Also ther are many 1000s stone houses in Ireland.
LOVELY to see 'GALS AT PLAY' (Mary Greene,Alice Jago, Paula K O Brien, Trish Reilly & Éimhear Flannery) featuring in @irishexaminer.bsky.social 's'10 things to see at Cork Folk Festival-Féile Chorcaí' Read all about it here: www.irishexaminer.com/.../arid-417....
Unfortunately heat pumps don't work in 200 year old stone cottages in Ireland of which there are many.Our govt doesn't tell you tht though & people find out the hard way.Couple that wth all-electric houses left in darkness without heat for a week or two in Winter.Practicality has to play a part too
I buy second hand all the time, since I was a young teen, and I have never once gotten from anything I've brought home. *where are you shopping, man?!
Gigi, for his talent but also his lovely temperament. He was a true leader and kind with it.
