Did you enjoy the new Endurance documentary? Wonder what Shackleton's expedition would be like when combined in a graphic novel with Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness, Arthurian legend, and South Pacific mythology? Well I have great news ...

This guy has been accusing Biden staffers of using an autopen to affix his name and then blames a staffer for that video post on his account.

It's clear that the Truman Oval Office philosophy of "the buck stops here" means something completely different to the current office holder.

I try to think of other sitcoms that are 100% domestic and workplace at the same time. It is so singular. The film stock. The shooting location. The constant struggle against mortality and bureaucracy. The desperate efforts to lose themselves off-hours. The format-breaking episodes. It's a COMEDY.
MASH is one of the greatest shows ever made. It centers a group of highly skilled people who are scared to be there, who hate the war that is happening there, and who will do their damnedest to help every single person they can for so long as they're suck there.
i cannot tell you how often i think back to MASH when writing. that ability to walk the line between humor and the darkest of humanity, yet never truly cross over into making light of it OR hopelessness--even though it toys with those things, too--is the line i strive for

When I visited my wife's family in Boston years back, I learned that golf courses become cross-country parks in the winter. It was the first time I had tried it. We were out there for hours. I had never exerted myself like that before. We went to a restaurant, and I devoured half the menu.

After drawing tons and tons of comic pages these past months, I switched to action pin-ups. Going back to sequential pages, I feel a greater freedom of body positioning and expression in conversation scenes. It really is important to trade up your drawing genres regularly.

The Olympic speed skating audience is singing Volare during the broadcast commercial break. It's lovely.

The character vs how you drew the character

I don't know what The Smashing Machine wants to tell us despite a lot of exposition dialogue. The lead doesn't evolve. We learn nothing about how he chose fighting or what makes him tick. The fighting isn't a catalyst or metaphor. Johnson does fine; he isn't asked to do much. Blunt kills, of course.

Stitch Fix sent The Countess a wide lapel shirt that made her look like a member of ABBA, and I rattled off their song titles at such a rate that I think she wants me to double my Hush Yo Nerd medication.

If the State Farm "Halfway There Insurance" ads don't use that Bon Jovi song, just shut down advertising for awhile.

A March 2025 Amazon preorder increased from $82 to $198. I managed to find it cheaper and in stock last night elsewhere and ordered it closer to the original price.
Just got a $175 tariff bill for a $560 item I bought off ebay because ebay groups the US and Canada together, and reader...

Years back we joked that his handlers could make a fake Oval Office for him to sign lorem ipsum laws and talk to people hired to be the press and foreign leaders, and he would no longer be a menace to the world.
It's fucking time.
It's been fucking time.

I knew Chappell Roan's dress looked familiar.
The Spy Secrets is that he slept with all of them.

Speaking of The Muppets, they are well represented at Atlanta's DragonCon. I love getting pictures with them while I'm in cosplay.

My county school system is hosting a small group of Danish students and teachers this week. One of the teachers is dying to experience a real American Super Bowl party. The call went out through the school emails. I hope they find one. I would love their realtime commentary on the experience.

Pro wrestling is serialized theater in the round with a range of specialized athletes. The audience can change the show as it happens. The performers adopt classic templates and contemporary cultural avatars. It's art, and art is inherently political.
Since #AEW has once again broken containment into non-fans:

Your assumptions about the education level, gender, and political leanings of professional wrestling fans are rooted in your own biases.

Listen to the fans who have always been here when they tell you this. You may learn something. 🤼🤼‍♀️

Ok, he was already my favorite. Now he's the best.
Never forget Brody King going straight from the ROH/NJPW show at MSG to a bar in Brooklyn without changing out of his gear so he could participate in a lip sync contest against a drag king as part of the Gay Young Classic.

Carol Burnett is on the latest Amy Poehler podcast, and she is still sharp as ever. Great stories, great jokes, completely engaged in the conversation. Her 1970s show was foundational for Your Humble Correspondent.
Her show and Muppets and MASH and comic books.
That's who I am.

#TheMuppetShow is just fun. The Countess and I spent the whole episode naming various Muppets in the background. The music-hall format of the show is so engrained in my head as a childhood association that I was a little shocked when someone said "friggin." But also? It was totally in character.

There exist legal networks state by state specifically for election site access and ballot security. I've been a volunteer observer for NC starting in 2016. The legal resources and recourses for early and day-of voting are immediately at hand. This will get destroyed.
