Roses are lively, saying "Good morning, and cheer up, pal!" Even the weather forecast has been advising us daily to avoid unnecessary outings due to the extreme heat.

Fruits of yuzu, Citrus junos, ripen and turn yellow in autumn. The fruit skin has a very refreshing scent and is used to flavor various dishes. I look forward to making yuzu marmalade every year.

In the exceptionally hot days in June, with daytime temperatures reaching 36 °C, I have to cut off the flowers and buds and provide shade to prevent the rose trees from withering. So, I decided to at least leave photos...

#gardening #wasps
Paper Wasps, Polistes mandarinus, may look scary, but they won't attack as long as you don't disturb them. I found that they prey on caterpillars, thereby keeping my garden's ecosystem. Well, I decided to get along with them!

After the rainy season ended earlier than any other season on record, the potted agapanthus has bloomed. The flowers look cool in the morning breeze. However, they have to withstand the daytime heat. I will pour you plenty of water after sunset.

The peak of the blooming season for the silk tree, Albizia julibrissin, has passed during the rainy days, but there are still a few delicate flowers remaining. My bicycle for pottering is in the photo.

When I was bicycle pottering on an early summer morning, white gaura, Oenothera lindheimeri, was blooming in a vacant lot in a residential area. I found that they were introduced here as a horticultural plant approximately 150 years ago and have since become naturalized.
