2024 has been one of the hardest years of my life. Having said that, there's been a lot of great stuff too and I wouldn't have got through without The Man - we had lots of adventures. Going into 2025 with a lot of hope. Here are some of my fav photos from this year.

The angled warping & shifting perspective of the building shapes are quite reminiscent of some of the style associated w/ German Expressionism of the 1920s & 30s.

These are original set design illustrations for the classic 1920 silent film, "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari".

The Creaking, a poem written by Ian McMillan for the Outsiders Project on homelessness and substandard housing. You can see him reading the poem in the art video ‘Stuck on the Spin Cycle’ which is in the touring exhibition.
OUTSIDERS THE CREAKING Listen to that dawn chorus, that afternoon chorus, That evening chorus; doors, stairs, beds and minds Creaking. They say if you listen hard you can hear Damp creaking as it shifts across walls, leaving its mark, Leaving its signature. In an uncomfortable bed in a room That seems to hiss like a snake a boy in a wool hat Is dreaming. Something creaks as it walks towards him And it seems to be singing frightening songs in a language Constructed from creaking: grammar, syntax, vocabulary All creaking under weight of meaning. This whole block Creaks like the architect's drawings never did. That girl's Breath dances in the damp air like a ghost might, slowly. That man's bones creak as the year turns like someone At the door who has forgotten the rest of the bad news. That woman weeps and yes, the weeping sounds like Creaking. The brilliant 'Show of hands' allowed us to use their song 'Cousin Jack' for a northeast mining film a few years back. 'Cousin Jack' refers to the blanket name for Cornish miners who moved from tin to coal mines around the country. Fab song! youtu.be/FKNIUwxtvHw?...
