But for your benefit - ferroptosis is an iron induced form of cell death that can be used to treat cancer under the right circumstances but it is so far difficult to see the effects of such therapies. This might change that.

We utilized CJ215 for in vivo imaging of ferroptosis in tumor-bearing animals and also demonstrated that its uptake is correlated with higher lipid peroxidation. Overall, CJ215 is a great tool to monitor lipid peroxidation (ferroptosis) and therapeutic response in vivo.

We then tested Annexin imaging agents and CJ215 (PMID: 39251765) and demonstrated that both can be used to image ferroptosis. CJ215 showed superior targeting to tumors and higher Signal-to-Noise ratio in vivo compared to Annexin based dyes as it could get access to PS on the inner membrane leaflet.
