My thoughts are too rude for good society. But also, why is a letter about the USA Liberal Arts system published in a UK newspaper? (A partly rhetorical question)

This is 100% the worst thing about engineering consultancy life; the amount of total garbage buzzwords that infest the sector.

And this is coming from someone who use to work on sequence stratigraphy! 😂
On my deathbed, I will regret not mobilizing my actionables in order to maximize my market impact.

It was really fun working on this project as a consultant. Very much looking forward to watching it later (my 6yo is DESPERATE), and maybe seeing a couple of cameos of your's truly and @seismatters.bsky.social in the BTS bit at the end!

Oh, right! Seasonal reminder that if you're carving a turkey on Thursday and, like many Americans, this is the largest whole animal you've ever disarticulated, go get a rotisserie chicken tonight or tomorrow and practice.

Look at where the joints are. Think about how to support each cut.

In case you missed this, the BBC edited a historian's speech about Trump to remove the claim that he's "the most openly corrupt president in US history." This came after Trump had threatened a $1 billion lawsuit.

Elite capitulation continues.

Read all about it here:

Trump Angrily Threatened to Sue BBC. Then Things Took a Darker Turn.
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

The technical issue has been fixed but we have timed out, and have to deplane. I guess one more night in Auckland…

Putting aside the fact that Farage’s racism has and continues to be well-documented, his claims he may have “misspoken” and that he had never *directly* racially abused anyone nicely summarises the views many white supremacist apologists hold…
