i dont think one thing should replace discord, i think like three things at minimum should replace discord. it being an All-in-One app has ruined so many parts of online.

worth noting that even if you refuse the age verification process, you won’t be locked out of talking to your friends on discord even if you can’t access certain servers. add folks now if you want to keep in touch and coordinate moving to a different platform

Definitely!! It's already got like 95% of what I use Discord for, so if it comes to a migration at least the migration won't be suuuper painful. It's not like it's my first rodeo with a chat service migration either, and at least I'm prepared to jump ship if need be!

I mentioned it in one of my servers and have put my Stoat username in my Discord profile! Really the only thing Stoat is missing that I care about is screensharing and maybe polls; otherwise it seems like it could be pretty solid.

If anyone is looking to alternatives to poke around to get some control in their lives, I've been on Stoat since April 2024 and it's been pretty alright. It's kinda in an awkward spot from having to suddenly rebrand from Revolt but I'm glad it's still around!

(Applying the same mindset I have from playing Hollow Knight and Rain World to doing things in FFXIV has probably been a great boon to me, for I am nothing if not full of patience towards myself and others. Dying is just prog! :D)

Moral of this story is: you don't have to be good at video games, you just have to bring patience, determination, a willingness to learn, a good attitude, and a cat who will demand affection at inopportune moments! He got plenty of kisses, naturally.

After getting sidetracked by deep dungeon shenanigans for several months, I went back and helped that sprout who'd been unsync progging P12S with me their clear, and their axolotl at long last! Hubert helped too, as he inflicted cat debuff on me and messaged party chat during the clear pull too. :D

It hasn't been all bad though. Silksong is real now, Xenoblade X saw a Switch port I never thought would happen, and slowly but surely I've been easing my way back into drawing again! The horrors persist, but so do I, and I intend to keep things that way.

I've basically been in perma-survival mode thanks to things that happened in 2023, and 2024 I lost my dad in a way that is heavily stigmatized. Last year was largely all about dealing with the fallout of that and learning to feel human again, but there was also the mold. Rough is putting it lightly.

Happy 2026 from the east coast!! I've been having a rough time of it in a lot of ways since 2023, but in spite of that, I've managed to survive. I'd like to hope that this year, I can learn to thrive again.

YEAH IT'S REALLY CUTE!!! I got my first 3 liner a month or two ago and got jumpscared by the cutscene, then bought myself the troll mount afterwards! :D
