My introduction on my website it says... " Hi ! I'm Julien And i make games You may know me as Grifdail on the internet. I'm a programmer and game designer. I've been working on games professionally for the past 10 years. I master C# (in unity) and Javascript / typescript, but I love learning new tool and tech (I'm currently learning Godot). I like finding solutions to both design and technical problems. I'm not afraid of implementing UI! I've worked on both PC and mobile game as well as gamepad functionality. The last few released games I've worked on have been Blooming Business Casino (Homo Ludens, 2023), Terraforming mars & DLC (Asmodee digital, 2020) and Takenoko (Asmodee digital & 3DDuo, 2019). I also love working on creative tools on my free time. I try to make them using web technologies so that they are accessible from everywhere. Last year I made Node Painter a tool to create animations and art using visual programming (kinda like shader graph in 3d software and game engine). Before that i made Doodle Playground to create hand-drawn 3D scenes, Draw me a gif to draw animated gif and Mesh Playground to create 3D meshes through code. It's pixelated and colorfull. A screnshot of a Tool i made feature multiple nodes linked together to make a program, kinda like a shader editor.

Pretty disappointed in both @humblebundle.com and especially in @girlswhocode.bsky.social. Please teach girls how to code, don't push them into generative AI. That won't build their skills. Prioritize foundational programming skills and awaken their interest. "Tired of long days writing code"???

So I finally got Godot to do tile-based movement and block pushing well (yes this is weirdly hard and Godot's actually one of the easier engines to do it in) and now I need to actually design a fun Sokoban name!

Godot has become a viable game engine

Blender has become a viable 3D modelling AND animation tool

SteamDeck is now a fantastic "mobile" Desktop platform

AAA is shrinking / abandoning territory, ceding more genres to indie

Basically, (funding sitch aside) indie gamedev is seriously looking up!
