Drexler led the Trail Blazers with 33 PTS (13-20 FG). Bill Laimbeer scored 26 PTS (6-9 3P) to lead the Pistons.

June 7, 1988: Bill Laimbeer and Isiah Thomas hit back-to-back threes in the span of three seconds, and the Pistons take a 17-point halftime lead in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

Adrian Dantley scored 34 PTS and Thomas had 19 PTS/12 AST/4 STL in Detroit's 105-93 win over the Lakers.

May 10, 1980: Julius Erving of the Philadelphia 76ers makes the first 3-point shot in NBA Finals history, with 3:22 remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 3.

It was the only 3-pointer made by either team in the six-game series. The Los Angeles Lakers won Game 3, 111-101.

Hill scored 21 PTS and Otis Thorpe had 23 PTS/14 REB but the Heat defeated the Pistons, 94-88. P.J. Brown had 21 PTS/13 REB and Mourning added 21 PTS/9 REB for Miami.

April 7, 1989: Isiah Thomas of the Pistons and the Bulls' Bill Cartwright are ejected for fighting in Chicago.

Thomas was fined $5,000 and suspended for two games. Cartwright was fined $2,500 and suspended one game. Detroit's Mark Aguirre was fined $2,000 for "acting as other than a peacemaker."
