The California prison system claims it doesn't hold prisoners to coordinate with ICE. However, CDCR delayed Kelvin's release by nearly 3 weeks once ICE notified them they wished to detain him.

Yep. And just the tax dollars they’ll get for holding people but all the money they will scam off the families who will put money on their loved one’s account so they can make over-priced calls home and buy essentials at the commissary.

Of course they want this. Immigration detention is mostly in for-profit facilities. Their friends will make billions off our tax dollars and human suffering. I want to vomit.

In California, doctors who have a certain percentage of clients on Medi-Cal can have the state pay their student loans. It helps get specialists to take low income patients.Maybe a program for private attorneys who do a certain percentage of public defender work would be a good way to handle this.
