Clearly she met him AFTER the game ended, after crash landing in the fishing pond and getting caught by Big's fishing hook. She probably spent hours trying to explain she wasn't a fish before Big finally understood, and it left her traumatized.

Everything I've seen of Silent Hill f is horribly disappointing, mainly because it looks more like Fatal Frame but with zombies instead of ghosts.
