The treaty of Versailles didn't cause the great depression, it was a scapegoat. Germans viewed the treaty as a humiliation & listened to Hitler's oratory which blamed the treaty for Germany's ills. Hitler promised to reverse the depredations of the Allied powers & recover Germany's lost territory

For reference $1B is 1000 times $1M. To be a billionaire a person doesn't get paid an hourly wage, they make money from other people working. To accumulate $1B a person would not be generous to charities or willing to help people.
