THREAD

1. Barry Lyndon (1975)
And interesting Doctor Who lore bit in this classic episode I just watched.

Apparently Time Lords can choose to regenerate when not under pain of death and pretty much keep their personality and can choose their form, switching back and forth to try on the options like an outfit.

Not entirely sure why, but when I think of the Reform type voters who make everything worse, for some reason I always imagine them being big fans of the TV show Heartbeat.

If you are a wealthy person who spends their money on trying to strip rights from marginalized people, I think you need to be put in the ground.

Hillary Clinton openly denying an ongoing holocaust is it?

This is what a centrist hero looks like and why Centrists are very much on the same side as the fascist.

I watched the season 7 episode of Stargate where a main character dies last night :(

Freezing the tax threshold is at best a stealth tax rise.

Claiming it isn't a tax rise via semantics is weird considering the effect is very much a rise in taxes for millions of people.

Sadly this sort of thing is just a fun game to these political commentators where their biases are very clear.

"Company that donates to Labour party and has Lobbyists in the house of commons as Labour MPs posts huge profits by exploiting ordinary people."

About 75% of all comments on any political post on Facebook are paid Reform bots.

20% of the comments are people who've had their brains cooked by all the bots and propaganda.

I had a dream that I inherited a parrot and a dog and the dog was 22 years old and in great condition still.

The parrot was very friendly and I could take it out and about with me and on the tube

LIBERALS: If only we'd elected Hillary Clinton none of this would have happened

HILLARY CLINTON, APPEARING AT AN EVENT SPONSORED BY A RIGHT-WING BILLIONAIRE TRUMP MEGADONOR: People who have sympathy for Palestinians getting genocided are dumb kids duped by communist propaganda
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

I think Hayao Miyazaki has the best claim to the title of "greatest living film director".

His weakest films are still timeless classics better than most directors reach with their finest works, and his best movies are as close to perfection as you can get.

If your "top films of the 21st century" only includes English language films, I think it's okay to disregard your opinions.

I've been working on a new cube idea that is going to take a lot of refining to get it playable

Wes Streeting has taken more money from private healthcare donors than I've earned in my entire life, and you want to claim he's not corrupt?

Get fucked. He is one of the very worst people in UK politics.

Jon Worth posted a claim that train tickets are expansive because of lack of government investment rather than them being privatised, then blocked me for pointing out that rolling stock operators reported profit margins of over 40% in 2023.

Seems like a very disingenuous man.
December 2, 2025 at 9:47 AM
In 2022-2023, the profit margins of rolling stock operators grew to 41.6%.

Rolling stock being privatised is a very significant factor for UK train tickets being so expensive.

Tony Leung probably?

A really deep filmography including some of the best movies ever made.

Or could go for someone like Clancy Brown and have basically every animated thing ever made to watch.
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

Quentin Tatrantino having a pop at Martine Scorsese is wild.

There's a small handful of filmmakers in the world who are of a caliber to criticise Scorsese and QT is certainly not one of them.

The second half of Season 4 of Strange things was total dog shit so it's weird seeing people hyped for the new series.

I guess they left such a big gap to make people forget about how bad it was?

The next James Bond film should go for the "our villain is very clearly supposed to be a specific real world person", like the bond movie where the villain is basically Rupert Murdoch and we all cheer when he gets fucked up.
