No, actually, each relic is based on a legendary item from our own myths, like Excalibur, but the people in deiar don't know any of these stories, so it's like some crazy item just falls out of the sky with no known history attached.

In my main campaign setting, Deiar, Relics exist. Extremely powerful items seem to spring up from nowhere, always a prelude to a world-shaking calamity. They can pop up anywhere, from a farmer's field to the top of the highest mountain, waiting for their story to begin.

A Selection of 1980's soviet weapons, vehicles and gear. The weapons include Makarov PM, the PSM Pistol, the AKMS, RPK, PKM and the KS23 shotgun. The vehicles include the URAL-4320, the UAZ-469, and the BTR-152. There is also a briefcase with a concealed transmitter.

Willingness to be vulnerable with people you don't know that well yet, and shared referential bases. The best groups for me are based around trust, vulnerability, and understanding the same references (literary, shared experiences etc.) Finding a group with both takes luck and time.

I really like fae. Powerful, quixotic, kinda pedantic, lots of stuff to draw on for memorable encounters. Rich and varied lore, many different cultural variations, they just have a lot of narrative potential energy.
