I think it's trying to preserve normals while the topology changes and they stop making sense. Reset normals is in my favorites though so maybe it is a bug.

Jokes aside I wrote some shader functions to fix this pastebin.com/mFGFL14u

You'll need to convert the glsl to hlsl for unreal but it's a drop in replacement for the texture sample function that samples without repetition. + a function to add color variation.

Yeah it's an issue with most larger programs like godot and blender, you add a button somewhere convenient and then another etc. You group them by some logic but now there's more and more buttons and it's stopped making sense. But you can't redesign it constantly either so it ends up not ideal.

Blender somehow still can't even export multiple objects as separate files. When I last looked I found 7 different batch export addons and none of them worked in 4.1
