Most people who present as evil are mentally ill or have a personality disorder. Many have not been diagnosed and fly under the radar. Guns are as easily available to the "evil" as they are to the rest of the US population. The weapons and lack of barriers to purchasing them are the problem.
However it is hardly ever a mentally ill person. It is a person who is evil. There is a difference!
