My best guess is that he knows trump is an egomaniac idiot and Musk is a greedy idiot, and they just might sign onto this. Obviously it’s nonsensical but the optics are good for Russia. Basically they’re trolling on a world diplomatic scale.
If that’s true then Pakistani origin is over represented in the victims to because most children are victimized by family members. In the UK those abuses are prosecuted where they would be tolerated in Pakistan. So migration reduces child sex abuse.
Are these a new service or are the replacing daily trips by the locomotive hauled intercity sets? I was up there this spring on one of those and it was lovely to have the full opening windows for the beautiful mountain scenery and fresh air. I’d be kind of sad if they went away
Cameras are cheap but they can’t get someone who’s misbehaving off a vehicle. You have to have a person watching the camera feeds and another person, or likely multiple, nearby the vehicle to make that physical intervention. The cameras are cheap, acting on what they see is expensive.

The American centrist punditocracy has decided that what the US transit industry needs are endless lectures about the importance of security.

These writers misunderstand the problem, and are making things worse. 1/

The Other Reason Americans Don’t Use Mass Transit
People will take buses and trains only if they feel safe while riding them.

Actually just to Hazelton, but that’s still 3,600+ miles from there to the easternmost point of the Trans Siberian Railway
Are there trade barriers to importing from
US? I believe the Amtrak order is almost done. Alstom might be eager to keep that production line going since they didn’t get the BLW order. What’s the balance of political considerations involved? Is it more important to order from Alstom or from France?
In the world you’re imagining where Avelia Liberty is a possibility, would they be built on the current assembly line in New York or on a new production line in France?
I’ve been on this app for almost a year and I STILL haven’t seen Alf’s dick the customer service here SUCKS
“There are some things that we quite like, actually”
That wizard is gonna be paying for so much fucking catenary
There is literally no good that comes from this. Why do we let a couple freaks get mega rich by creating society destroying technology
Pitch: a horror movie where an Amtrak train that gets stuck there waiting for a freight train on Halloween night
The quality of transit service in the Wasatch Front is stunning, especially in a deep red state. And they consistently deliver projects under budget! It’s phenomenal. Every single transit agency in the US should be trying to learn from UTA

The #1 piece of advice that TransLink's CEO offers other North American transit agencies:

Provide frequent service
I think this rules. It’s fun! It points out the absurdity of deploying the military against like 12 guys camping outside a building
The transition from Norfolk Southern track to Amtrak/SEPTA track at Harrisburg should instantly convince anyone that railway nationalization is necessary and important. It feels like stepping forward in time a half century or entering a proper country.
On a completely sold out Pennsylvanian from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. Almost like there should be more than one (1) train per day between two dense cities with high transit ridership 250 miles apart. FlixBus/Greyhound has 16-18 daily trips charging a minimum of $46 a month in advance.
In theory Renfe will increase service at some point. There is a chronic shortage of rolling stock in Spain, and narrow gauge lines in the autonomous communities are not a high priority. AVE first, then Cercanias, then R. That’s why the Basques took theirs over and did the improvement themselves
There is a little freight traffic and Renfe also run a couple of luxury tourist trains on the route. The infrastructure was built in the Franco era for military use. Every road crossing is grade separated and every single stop is a high platform. Even in the middle of a forest or cow pasture.
