I found "skeuonym", but there aren't many references to it. It came from "skeuomorph", when a new technology has the shape of an old one, even thought it doesn't need to in order to function (like those flame-shaped light bulbs).

It feels like an odd sort of compliment when the turtles think I'm harmless enough that they don't have to leave their log when I pass by.
