I saw not a shred of hype for this book. However, when a book is really hated and people kick up a fuss, that SELLS books. People get curious. The cancellation makes the success.

The only logic I can offer is that RFK Jr is so gross, so toxic, that no one wants to hear more.

What is the con of preventing LIVER DISEASE. The con the committee thinks might be out there.

Most people on this committee ARE the con, but thank you to those who tried so hard to push back against this rampant anti-intellectual, ani-science, anti-health group.

What did I just say about sending money to for-profit activities on Giving Tuesday.

And that's a boycott for me.
Billionaires Michael and Susan Dell pledged $6.25 billion to provide 25 million American children an incentive to claim the new investment accounts for children created as part of President Donald Trump’s tax and spending legislation.

Giving Tuesday is organized to provide funding and visibility for nonprofits, community initiatives, etc. It is not for promoting your book, podcast, small business, twitch, whatever.

Yes, you can still promote things. No, you are not part of that event. Don't be yucky.

In case you’re keeping score, this is the publisher of children’s picture books condemning a tweet by the U.S. Secretary of Defense that depicted one of its characters killing people. Because that’s the world we’re in right now.

Me about to piss off a bunch of capitalists: If Bezos doesn’t want to pay his fair share in corporate taxes, I don’t see why we shouldn’t nationalise Amazon and make it a subsidiary of the post office.

Just saw a mix-up of slight and sleight and while I've never mixed them up myself (that I know of), I can't believe this wasn't previously on my radar. There are two. Two! Both seeming to have wiggled out of Old Norse and eventually landing in Middle English and we kept 'em both!

Netgalley sent me a book ad about how we have to stop sidelining white Christian men and I'm sorry to say that some customer service rep got a strongly worded email (and my unsubscription).

But seriously, fuck off.

(If you're the marketing rep who bought that promo, fuck you in particular.)

They don't want nurses and teachers to be considered professionals, which will make it easier to push their agendas, as those folks will be less educated (and given the continuing education credits teachers have to pay for on an ongoing basis forever, that pulls budget from higher ed, too).

AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.

Even better, it's more than one kind of spider, exchanging information, upskilling, circling back for the final, suffocating rampage.

Pulte...Pulte...where have I heard that name and why am I not at all surprised.
The Kremlin disguised a nearly $100 mn payment to Trump in the form of a brokered real estate deal... and both Jeffrey Epstein and William Pulte were involved in the deal. That's very interesting.

I'm sorry to throw a wrench in what you're mad about, but campaign finance reform and an end to Citizens United are better fixes for what you're mad about than age or term limits (and limiting the free will of voters).

I voted! Here is a photo of my sticker. You should vote too if you are eligible.

I do not like voting in schools. That nearly always means students were displaced. I also prefer mail voting, because it's secure and convenient.

I don't care if you have Halloween, Christmas, election, or Valentine's Day decorations up today. I don't care what tunes you're piping into this retail establishment. Do what makes you happy. (Particularly if it includes strings of lights during the darker time of year, N Hemisphere.)
