Thank you to all who joined our fall invasive shrub pulls at the nature sanctuaries. These events and other invasive species removal work was made possible thanks to the Invasive Species Centre's Invasive Species Action Fund.

It was a lovely day to go #birding on Saturday with HNC President Jackson Hudecki. Participants were treated to a dozen Turkey Vultures feasting on dead salmon, Northern Mockingbirds, Eastern Bluebirds, a juvenile Bald Eagle, and more! #HamOnt

Last month volunteers joined us for a weekday planting at McQuesten Urban Farm in east Hamilton to bolster the pollinator habitat we steward around the farm. Thank you to Niwasa for providing funding & recognizing the importance of both pollinator habitat and pollinators to farm health and success!

Thank you to Teagan from @ontarionature.bsky.social for leading folks on a herp walk at Sheelah Dunn Dooley Nature Sanctuary last week. A few Eastern Red-backed Salamanders made an appearance despite the chilly weather, with bonus sightings of Eastern Bluebirds and Cedar Waxwings.
