ICE detained new mother Nayra days after she gave birth while she was headed to visit her baby in the NICU. Then, she was thrown in Broadview with no postpartum care and limited food and water despite being a Type 1 diabetic. (More below)
A Cicero woman’s baby was in the NICU. She was in ICE detention.
Nayra Guzmán was arrested 15 days after her daughter’s difficult birth. Before Trump took office, postpartum immigrants were rarely detained by ICE.
