16 years ago, the Citizens United Supreme Court case reversed century-old campaign finance restrictions and opened the floodgates for obscene corporate donations in politics. Since then, I’ve been calling for this decision to be overturned.

I recently visited the Greater West Town Project. They provide resources to help thousands of Chicagoans on our city’s West Side find jobs. With two alternative high schools and vocational training courses from woodworking to manufacturing, GWTP proves that not every career needs a college degree.

AG Bondi, release & unredact the files. Support the survivors & hold pedophiles accountable.

This weekend, Trump’s DOJ released an additional 3 million pages of the #EpsteinFiles, many with disturbing evidence against the President and his friends. There are still another 3 million pages that have yet to be released.

As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I’m going to keep fighting for funding for our parks and community spaces.
February 2, 2026 at 9:30 PM
During my time in Congress, I’ve been incredibly proud to bring home nearly $4.3 million in funding for the park district. Every kid in every neighborhood should have access to the low-cost camps, sports, and other programming in our field houses.

We’ve seen before that bombing a country does not deliver lasting change or liberty. The path forward is supporting the people, not repeating failed wars.

Instead of standing with the Iranian people in their pursuit of democracy and freedom, President Trump is again turning to threats of military force. More below.

The average Illinois family spent $1,781 more in 2025 compared to 2024, due to Trump's inflationary tariffs.

To bring #inflation down, Speaker Johnson & the Republican majority must end these reckless tariffs for good.

I want to congratulate @paul-lisnek.bsky.social on a great 18 years with WGN’s Political Report! While I’m sad to see the show go, I look forward to continuing to enjoying Paul’s commentary elsewhere on @wgntv.com in the future.

Thanks, Paul!

After barely surviving Elon Musk's DOGE, the Social Security Administration is strapped and understaffed — all while 112,429 people in our district receive Social Security.

86 years ago today, the first check was issued. I'm fighting to make sure you get your benefits continuously and on time

I’m demanding full transparency and accountability. The victims deserve justice and the American people deserve answers.

The #Epstein files released today included disturbing allegations of abusive and criminal actions taken by President Trump. These accounts are horrifying.

Content warning for the following.
The Department of Justice just pulled this document of allegations against Donald Trump down off their website. Why? End the Coverup.
DOJ has since killed this link. This is what was there:

We also talked about how protections against sexual harassment have been rolled back under the Trump administration, and how we can fight to get them reinstated. I also learned that CWIT offers training and resources for women entering the trades — and how that supports U.S. manufacturing at large.
January 30, 2026 at 8:10 PM
I recently met with Chicago Women in Trades — a nonprofit that supports female laborers (like welders, carpenters, and insulators) in male-dominated fields. Women only make up 4.3% of America's construction workforce.

Comedy legend and actress Catherine O’Hara just passed. I always enjoyed her in Second City TV (and more recently, Schitt’s Creek!).

Rest in peace, Ms. O’Hara.

Attacking the free press is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. Donald Trump thinks the Constitution, including freedom of the press, is optional. I’m calling on every member of Congress to join me in demanding their release today.

I just heard that the Department of Justice has taken journalists @donlemonofficial.bsky.social and Georgia Fort into custody — for covering a protest in Minnesota.
January 30, 2026 at 5:25 PM
President Trump has waged a non-stop war on Representative Omar since the day she was elected. His inflammatory comments about Minnesota and Somali-Americans without a doubt played a role in this attack. Trump owes her an apology and he needs to knock it off.
January 29, 2026 at 8:30 PM
I am incredibly relieved that @repilhan.bsky.social was not injured and so impressed that she continued her town hall after the attack. Nonetheless, an attack like this could easily have ended in serious injury or even her death.

More below.

Kim Jong Un would be impressed.

I'm cosponsoring @elfreth.house.gov’s bill to stop this nonsense and prohibit our National Parks from putting any living political figures on the National Parks pass.
Want to cover Trump’s face on your national park pass? That’ll cost you.
Visitors to national parks who plan on covering President Donald Trump’s face on their 2026 entrance passes may face additional fees.
