Day 2 of #ArtAdventCalendar. I forget what the Inktober prompt was for this one a few years ago, but it has aged very well.

The pause menu: gateway to a world of even more submenus. Sometimes a player just needs to learn about the people of the world, build up their farmland, or sort their favorite items for easy access in battle, and Uprooted has the menus you need!

An RPG with lots of text needs a nice, big, readable font (looking at you, Xenoblade Chronicles X)! Today I raised Uprooted's default font size (now well above the recommended 28px), and people who need even bigger text can increase the size, too!

Uprooted may not be a traditional farming game (vegetables are weapons, not food!), but no farming game is complete without a fishing minigame, and now we've got one, too! And of course, various accessibility options exist to customize the experience.

Two theater marathons across two weekends was brutal but worth it to see several Akira Kurosawa movies and the entirety of Twin Peaks: The Return; but since Letterboxd refuses to include ALL tv shows, I will log NO tv shows on it in protest.

...And because I already have Serializd for that.
My most recent four movies are Last Night in Soho, which I gave 2.5 stars to, Yojimbo, which I gave 5 stars to, High and Low, which I gave 5 stars and a heart to, and Stray Dog, which I gave 4.5 stars to. The latter 3 movies are all directed by Akira Kurosawa.

The bad thing about marathonning multiple movies in theaters is that you have to see the same trailers over and over again.

The good thing is you get to see 3 Akira Kurosawa movies in a row and I gotta be honest, all the critics and people saying his movies are good were right.

There was a "buy 2 get 3 free" deal at the store and it took me a while to comprehend that it really meant "5 for the price of 2" and not just "buy 2 and get the 3rd free" because I've never seen a deal that good.

Anyway there are cheeseburger flavored doritos and they taste like fucking shit.

Literally the only reason I have an Android over an iPhone now (there were more reasons in the past but Google got rid of most of those, too) is so I can just make fun little apps for myself and run them on my phone.

Hopefully this will be easy to circumvent with developer tools or something.

Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.
