Someone come & collect your pap.
He's had a long day picking fights with strangers on the internet & chose to dive headlong into basic Boomer sexism.
Honestly fellas, why are you *like* this?!

And before you go acting clever, I'm talking ABOUT you, not TO you. So shush! in advance!
Whenever you’re ready dear.
Again & finally:

You started this.
You picked this fight.
You chose the topic, the venue, & the opponent.

He chose to walk away from you, because you are a bully.

He needn't entertain you.
Now, go think about how you may have abused your power elsewhere, but not here.

We're all done here.
Love you back, boo.

Mute till your heart's content.
Which, why?

Don't tug on Superman's cape.
Don't spit into the wind.
Don't pick fights with strangers on the Internet.
And don't mess around with, well, you.
It's literally why we invite you to literally everything.

Literally.
Actually, tons.

Like, oodles & gobs.

Like you have no idea HOW fun.
You have the power to walk away.
To stop picking a fight.

You don't know the person with whom *you've chosen* to argue, but I do, and buddy believe me, "coherence" is *not* an issue for him, even if you're currently too flustered to see it.

And that's ok.
We all get a little worked up sometimes.
But HOO-boy does he seem to think he has the power in *this* here relationship!

::arms akimbo; demands apology::

Love how they hone in on entertainment & convenience apps (Roblox, Snapchat), yet ignore things like Ring cameras & Canvas.

Way to go, yinz!

A minor point but: How many foreign intelligence agencies are trying to infiltrate contractor and subcontractor firms right now and how easy will it be for them to get past this doesn't-give-af-about-national-security administration?
We have to use a digital planner here for Christopher's benefit, but I loved when I had mine back in the day.
The tactile sensation.
Write it down.
Tumb the page.
Dog-ear the corner.
It's there forever.

There are books I've read whose passages I remember down to where the words were on the page.
They can have my worksheets when they take them from my cold dead hands.
The best thing I have are my maps.
I printed up maps of the continents; not political maps, no countries, just basic maps.

I have a big ass box of Crayola colored pencils that I use on it.

I have marked the Ottoman & Mongolian Empires, and the travels of Ibn Battuta & Al-Mas'udi in Technicolor.
I'm a history major.
I do use Excel to maintain a spreadsheet of world events kept in chronological order & color-coded by course...
Which I have printed out at the front of my notebook as a handy reference.
I worked in Drs offices for years. Typing for me is a passive exercise.
PT says a thing; I type it into their record; Dr says a thing; I type it into the record.
None of that is supposed to stick.
In fact, it's supposed to *not* stick.

No way I'm gonna retrain my brain at 50-ish.
So, I use paper.
Maybe "smug" isn't the right word. Justified?
Yes, that's it.

When I started classes in '22, I was embarrassed to show up with my notebooks & printouts, but I can't read long form from a screen, & I absolutely cannot take notes that way.
Me, a non-traditional undergrad who saves as .pdf & prints out *every* reading as soon as it's available, feeling smug today before tomorrow's lectures.

part of why i find the idea that certain tech is inevitable (LMS, AI, etc) to be silly is we're not far removed from the before times. we have it in recent and living memory how we function without these things. i graduated from college in 2013. we had reading packets and printed our assignments
So, most of my cohort can't do their work because Canvas is down.

Last night there was also a massive outage on Ring & Nest doorbell cameras.
My brother's neighborhood had their cars broken into. Like, all of em.

Gee whiz, ain't this new, connected, digital world grand?!
I would just assume fight you about the difference between JRB & DJT, TBQH.
Legit, didn't notice.

Picked up the rhythm.
Hoped I was right.
Ran with it.
