The death of Kit Kat, a bodega cat run over by a Waymo self-driving taxi, has sparked outrage and debate in San Francisco, with some bemoaning the way robot taxis and automation have taken over the city.

The self-driving taxis have become ubiquitous in the city, but an uproar ensued when one ran over a beloved feline.

Human drivers kill hundreds of animals every year in San Francisco — including at least 12 cats in the past few weeks. But when a Waymo ran over Kit Kat, known as the Mayor of 16th Street, an uproar ensued.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie confounded people with his unusual choice for Sunset district supervisor. After apparent unsavory business practices and tax fraud came to light, she resigned.

I learned a lot about Nancy Pelosi this week — including her very early advocacy for AIDS patients. She visited them in SF General’s AIDS ward and convinced the Reagan administration to allow the AIDS Memorial Quilt to be displayed on the National Mall in 1987.

Ever since Trump arrived in DC, Pelosi, has confounded him. He has tried to intimidate, undermine and embarrass her. Those efforts more often than not backfired.

Pelosi seemed not only unintimidated, but also permanently appalled + deeply unimpressed.

He stayed calm. He worked the phones.
