I moved from church ceilings to the geometry of illuminated manuscripts. This was 2005-ish just before smart phones but breaking news notifications were really ramping up. I have too much to say about this so I'll continue below. #contemporaryart #contemporarypainting #illuminatedmanuscript

The fake passion in politicians giving speeches reminded me of the porn stars. These gouache paintings were exhibited in "Elective Acts" in Pheonix, AZ. Conservative portraits sold. I also had large paintings of Bush and Kerry, which were not even displayed, because I made Kerry look so bad....

6. Working with porn as reference made me cry. I added to the women I painted return humanity to the cropped images. In "heads", I zoomed in closer to focus on pleasure. The irony is this was all staged , but eliminating the rest of the scene helps focus on the female experience.

#2 Here are two of my grad school drawings, which to this day are some of my favorite work. These two are not as explicit as others, but like the others include piles and layers of nude bodies. I was very interested in the transient nature of passion. #art #contemporaryart #drawing

#1 A year or 2 after College. My first installation piece with my wedding dress for a marriage that didn't happen covered with emotional text. It was personal, but I realize it was my first political piece. I was figuring out who I was if not a wife. #installationart #contemporaryart

I was lucky to be invited to McDaniel College last month to do an artist's talk. I will post slides here daily, so I have time to write a little bit about each slide. Please indulge me :) It will also be helpful when I inevitably do another slide talk but can't find my last powerpoint.

Looking for art feeds I would be most interested in. Where is contemporary art (painting, sculpture, installation, video art and indie animation etc.) Not really interested in anime or manga FAN art, OCs, or digital artists seeking commissions. Will link to ones I follow in comments. #art

Here is the trailer for my 2021 award-winning animated short "The Long Goodbye", a personal diary of election day 2020 to inauguration day 2021. It continues to be relevant. You can watch the whole thing on daily motion. dai.ly/k5ntlY3VBSQk...
