This work was a collaborative effort between MPIMG, UKSH, FLI, and many other institutions, across areas of expertise in neuropathology, neuro-oncology, and computational biology.

By leveraging Oxford Nanopore sequencing and a flexible Naïve Bayes classifier, we make classification feasible within the critical surgical timeframe, helping neurosurgeons adapt their strategy based on the tumor’s molecular profile.

We developed MethyLYZR, a machine learning framework that enables live tumor classification within 15 minutes of sequencing—bringing molecular diagnostics into the operating room.

We’re excited to share that our paper on rapid molecular classification of brain tumors has just been published in Nature Medicine!
