Still grim in eastern Spain, with rain from Dana Alice affecting some of the same parts of Valencia as last year.

Terrific presentation last night by @rebeccacalderon.bsky.social of her new hand-painted map of Gibraltar’s Upper Town. I picked up some copies at the Gibraltar Heritage Trust shop

iPhone Air collected from the Newton store, then round the corner to Gibtelecom for a quick lesson in eSIM. All done in half an hour.

Succinct take on the UK’s anaemic growth: “The Tory leadership’s wager on the Brexit referendum spectacularly backfired, leaving the UK isolated from Europe and at the mercy of its special relationship with the US, many of whose political class regard the UK as a basket case.” on.ft.com/46GUM4Z

This archive episode of In Our Time on Julian (or Juliana) of Norwich puts me in mind of St Anne’s church, Lewes, an open and welcoming church with its own anchoress’s cell

Decent day for a Gibraltar-Valencia roadtrip

This morning‘s inbound flights to GIB: easyJet from MAN and LGW both came to the Pimos waypoint, gave up (low cloud base) and went to Málaga, cancelling the return flight.

An hour later, BA landed on second attempt.

EasyJet could have flown people on from Málaga but decided otherwise.

Burnham at fringe #Lab25 event: "Look at the last decade we've had. Shouldn't we start calling out the disaster that #Brexit has been, more directly? They are the people who took us down this path. That's their doing. And we've got to absolutely hold them accountable for that." ~AA

Very pleased to see Sussex sparkling wine from Wiston, near Steyning, in the BA First lounge at LHR

I’m among the 4k or so BA frequent flyers who jumped ship to Air France/KLM when BA’s Exec Club was devalued.

No regrets. Route network is comparable; KLM short-haul catering is sound, albeit with less choice.

Below a typical AMS-LHR meal.
